Biog: Only child of Ernest John Manners of The Old Hall, Netherseale, Burton-on-Trent and Dove Cottage, Alstonfield, Derbyshire, Director of Bass, Ratcliffe & Gretton Ltd. and Worthington & Co. Ltd.; m. (1927) J. Derrick Hignett.

Date: 27 October 1927.

Occasion: The marriage, 27 October 1927, at St. George's Church, Hanover Square, London.

Location: Claridge's Hotel [place of the wedding reception].

Descr: FL standing.

Costume: Wedding dress:

"...picture frock of ivory chiffon, fashioned with a tight-fitting bodice and long, flowing sleeves, scalloped with pearls to match similar embroidery on the ankle-lenght, gathered skirt. A gridle of pearls, ending in a long end in front, ornamented the gown, and her full Court train, also of ivory chiffon and mounted on white net, was scalloped with a triple row of pearls and ornamented at the foot with a tru-lover's knot of orange blossoms. Her veil of Brussels net was caught to her hair by a triple bandeau of pearls, with orange blossoms at the side, and she carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley, tied with silver-tissue ribbons" (The Morning Post, 28 October 1927, p 7d).
