Descr: FL standing.

 

Costume: Classical draperies, with hanging sleeves, of crimson gauze shot with gold; girdle of jewelled serpents with emerald and ruby eyes; jewelled serpent head-dress and armlet; flaming torch.

[p 70] My sense of humour was ticked by two sisters who went to the Ball as the “Furies,” and wore hair nets to keep their heads tidy!
