Anne Washington Perine (1909-1985).

At the fourth Court of the Season on 12 June, Miss Anne Washington Perine (1909-1985) was presented by Mrs. Houghton, wife of the American Ambassador.
Daughter of George Corbin Perine of Homeland, Baltimore, an author and art dealer, and his wife Tyler, née Cooke, Miss Perine descended from two of the most distinguished colonial families of Maryland and Virginia.
Dressed by Monsieur Worth of Paris, in a gown which highlights the flat front and back which was the fashionable shape of the time, Miss Perine wears a gown of coral chiffon and white lace. She wears a short and easily manageable train of silver lamé, and she holds a ‘waterfall’ ostrich feather fan.
In later life, Miss Perine was active in social and club affairs and was a member of the Colonial Dames of America. Despite her presentation at the foremost marriage market in the world, Miss Perine died unmarried.
