Sitter: Henrietta, Countess Bentinck, née Henrietta Eliza Cathcart M'Kerrell ( ).

Biog: Daughter of Robert M'Kerrell, of Hillhouse; m. (1874) Henry Charles Adolphus Frederick William Aldenburg, formely 6th Count Bentinck, and Count and Baron of Aldenburg, who resigned the dignity to his younger brother (1874).

Date: 28 June 1912.

Occasion: The Court, 24 June 1912: presented by Duchess of Devonshire, and herself presented her daughter, Miss Naomi Bentinck.

Location: The Lafayette Studio, 179 New Bond Street, London, W.

Descr: FL standing.

Costume: Court dress: "Black satin "Diane" embroidered in jet and diamanté, with a corsage to match with fichu of Brussels lace. A train of black mousseline velvet lined with charmeuse, draped with a flounce of Brussels lace caught with a diamond buckle" (see: The Times, 25 June 1912, p 11a).
