Biog: "Sister of Edna May, the American actress and star of The Belle of New York, which had been a huge success for much of 1898 and the whole of 1899 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London. When this photograph of Miss May was taken (7 February 1900) she was playing the part of Mamie Rowe in the musical comedy, Florodora, which ran at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue from 11 November 1899 to 3 August 1900."
