Biog:  

Princess Bamba Sophia Jindan. b. at London 29th September 1869 (d/o Bamba), educ. privately.
m 1916, Lieutenant-Colonel David Waters Sutherland, CIE (3.6.1917). (b. at Buningyong, Victoria, Australia, 18th December 1871; Educ Melbourne and Edinburgh Univs. MD, FRCP, MBC; Principal of King Edward’s Medical College, Lahore 1909-1921; son of John Sutherland, of Allendale, Victoria, Australia. He died 19th April 1939). She d.s.p. at ‘Gulzar’, Lahore Model town, Punjab, Pakistan, 3rd October 1957.

 

Princess Catherine Hilda Duleep Singh. b. 27th October 1871 (d/o Bamba), educ. privately. She d. unm. 8th November 1942

Costume: "These young ladies are both wearing Benares brocade saris of fine gauze with gold brocade designs. The one of the left has a design of gold spot (mohurs or gold coins), with a typical large kalka motif in the corner, the one of the right has a striped design of gold with a solid pallav (end)."
